UAAD Executive Board Meeting, March 22, 2007 - 11:45-1:00 pm City Union-Ballroom

Yoko Smith, UAAD Program Committee Chairman, announced that the remaining monthly meetings for this academic year. The April 18th meeting will have Coni Yori, UNL Women’s Head Basketball Coach, as the guest speaker. The annual cookout will be held on May 23rd with a tour of the backstage at The Lied. She then introduced the guest speaker, Tom Osborne, who talked about his transition from a graduate student/grad assistant for the NU football team in the early 1960s to his position as head coach. The transition then took him from coaching to Nebraska Congressman from the 3rd District back to the UNL campus where he now teaches Leadership classes at the College of Business Administration.

Jeanne Wicks, Vice President of UAAD and President-Elect led the business meeting at the conclusion of Dr. Osborne’s presentation. She announced the April 18th meeting will be a “Nickels for Nails” with donations of nickels going to Lincoln Habitat for Humanity. She reminded members that the May meeting/cookout date had been changed to May 23rd from the date originally announced. Due to construction going on at Sheldon Art Gallery, the location for the event may be moved elsewhere within the general vicinity.

Jeanne reminded those in attendance that the UAAD Interest Inventory Form is due March 23rd and encouraged everyone to sign up for serving on committees or make recommendations of members they would like to have run for office. Mary LaGrange and Jennifer Hellwege had copies of inventories available for those who had not received one.
