UAAD Executive Board Meeting, April 18, 2007 - 11:45-1:00 pm East Campus Union

Marilyn Fenton, President, opened the business meeting prior to the presentation by Coni Yori. She introduced Mary LaGrange, Historian and Chair of the Nominating Committee, who announced the ballot for the new UAAD Executive Board and indicated it would be sent electronically to all members that afternoon. Candidates on the 2007 ballot include: Vice President-Dodi Eveleth and Valerie Leffler; Secretary-John Dillingham and Ashley Washburn; and Treasurer-Kay Dinkelman and Cheryl Hassler. A second document will be e-mailed with the ballot and that includes bios for each of the candidates.

Marilyn introduced Yoko Smith, Program Committee Chair, who announced that the final monthly program for the 2006-2007 year will be the Annual Cookout on May 23rd at Sheldon Art Gallery. There is construction currently going on in the area so the even will be moved several yards from the original site. There will be a “Behind the Scenes at The Lied” following the picnic with a guided tour of what goes on backstage at the various shows and events presented at the facility.

Yoko then introduced Connie Yori, UNL Women’s Head Basketball Coach. Connie’s presentation focused on the similarities between work ethic and management skills as they relate to athletics and the managerial/professional functions of members of UAAD.

The next monthly UAAD meeting will be May 23rd with the Annual Cookout at 11:45 outside of Sheldon Art Gallery. New members of the Executive Board will be announced at that time.
