President's Message

Hello UAAD members!

Please mark your calendars for the next UAAD General Membership meeting on November 20, 2019 at 901 Hardin Hall. If you haven’t been in that room before, the view eastward over East Campus is very nice! Our speaker will be Interim Police Chief Hassan Ramzah, presenting about UNLPD’s Citizen’s Police Academy. The Academy is a once-a-year six-week program in during the fall semester that gives faculty, staff, students and supporters of the University to get a chance to see, learn, and hear about UNLPD. The presentation will include topics such as patrol procedures, dispatch procedures, crime scene investigation, traffic enforcement, K-9 unit, other various topics, plus how to register. You can read about Troy Fedderson’s experience during the Academy in this article from Nebraska Today.

We still are in need of a Program Chair and Founder’s Day Co-Chair; if you are wanting to get some university service time in or would like to have a more varied role in UAAD, I encourage you to reach out to me. If you are not a member, consider joining! We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
